Minnies | Vintage Hairstyle

Wednesday, 19 August 2015

Today I tried something a littttlleee bit different to jazz things up.
I tried creating a vintage hairstyle which is easy & fiddly at the same time.

Which hairstyles do you love?
I'm loving both this and the milkmaid braid!

Minnies | Outfit Time!

Saturday, 15 August 2015

So a few days ago I posted about my Results Day.
We all got dressed up and went out for a meal.

I thought I would share with you the outfit I was wearing as it was all from New Look.
I think New Look have some really pretty things in sometimes. I especially love the 'Cameo Rose' section which was where I picked up this pretty top from.
The whole outfit gives a really nice completed look and it is really well-fitting.

Results Day 2015!

Thursday, 13 August 2015

The title of this blog post says it all. It was my Results day at collage.
I have finished one year at A-Levels and I am happy to say I have successfully passed all of my exams.
I took:
-Health and Social Care (single & double so it counted as two A-Level subjects)... this had LOTS of coursework involved.

-Psychology...I didn't particularly enjoy this subject as much as I thought I would. I just really disliked it, although! Some of it was really interesting to learn about! I suppose we can't pick and choose our modules :3

-English Literature. Hmm, mixed opinions on this subject. I liked it and I hated it. (Poetry- hated...Creative/story side- LIKED)

Everyone has parts they like and dislike.

BUT at least that's over now. I can safely say that my time at sixth form was the best part of school life. They allow you to be yourself, it's a relaxed and grown-up environment where they do not treat you like kids. They support you through any achievements even if they were not achievements made at collage. Most of the teachers are so friendly and look out for you (well... that's what it was like at my sixth form anyways!)

One of my tutors told me and my tutor group something important. A story. A story of her career path. She said: "Sometimes when you aim for something you may get it and you can either love it/ hate it. I wanted to have a career in something when I was at school but as I got older, that changed, my opinion changed and I found myself working in a prison. Look at me now! Something completely opposite...teaching!... and I really enjoy it. When I was younger I never pictured myself as a teacher. Life has so many paths and sometimes you don't know where you will end up but take life as it goes and achieve what you want to achieve and you should get to where you want to be at, somewhere where you are comfortable being."

Why I am NOT staying on one more year at A-Levels.

As much as I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, I do not think I would enjoy carrying on there for another year. They didn't offer a wide range of subjects (I would have loved to have had the opportunity to take photography or a subject more hands- on and creative except for art/textiles)

I think the only reason I went on to sixth form last year was because I wasn't sure what career I actually wanted in my future. I have reached a stage where I now know that I want to work with animals and so that's what I am going for. After my interview yesterday and getting accepted into this NEW amazing collage, I am pleased that I can focus my work now on something that I do enjoy even though I am deeply going to miss my old friends so so much!

When collecting my results, I realized it's the last time I may see some of my peers again.
Especially Chay, my best friend who I have been friends with since I first met her at high school.
I'm sure we will always meet up with one another as well as the rest of my friends who I will miss!
For doing well, I actually got a present.. it was that beautiful 'Olivia Earl' clock that I really wanted. It is so so lovely!

My parents and I also went out for a lovely meal to celebrate my great results.
If I learnt one thing throughout school's that I found myself doing well in the subjects I found most interesting. So I am confident that I am going to (hopefully) do well on this new course.

Thankyou Mummy & Daddy for everything!

Comment below and tell me know how your results went!

...Interview Time! (and TIPS!)

Wednesday, 12 August 2015

I had my first Official interview!
Well... it wasn't for a job. It was for the new college I am going to.

I had no idea what a college interview would be like!

Practice makes almost perfect! I have had practice interviews before which the college I have just left provided for us and it was very much appreciated, it was great to have the experience so I knew kind of what having an interview would be like.
If you haven't had this opportunity at your school, ask a family member to help you practice and to tell you off whenever you say "umm" or any other no no's!

College interviews are very much...relaxed? Is that the word? It is a little scary but you know what? It's okay. The college you are trying to get into want to make just as much of a good impression as you do, they will want students to choose their college to learn at and study.

Here are a few little Tips & Tricks I did which made me feel more prepared.

>> I was told to wait in the waiting room where there was lots of seats and the whole time I stayed standing up. It makes much more of a good impression. You don't want to be sat in a chair, not realizing you are slouching as they call you in where you will then have to struggle your way up.
Being stood up makes you look much more ready to go. <<

 >> Smile! That way you instantly look friendly and instantly feel more relaxed within yourself<<

The course I am now on
I stood in that waiting room not knowing what it was like. I got called in and to my surprise it was more of a chit chat about my course. I was going to do the Level 3 Subsidiary diploma in Animal management (more animal handling!) for one year which is slightly easier than the Level 3 Extended diploma in Animal management, (as it contains more modules and is more if you wanted to be a veterinary nurse for example)
However, although I applied for the subsidiary, they thought I would be more than capable to do the extended course for 2 years. They talked me through it and I agreed that it would be a better course to do particularly if I wanted to become a Veterinary nurse.

So that's the course I am now on...Literally, I GOT IN!
They said they were more than happy to offer me a placement. So I am extremely excited, and my parents are very very proud. I'm glad I am achieving what I am aiming for. A career with animals which I really want to have.

I think the lamb outside on the college grounds was pleased for me too...baaarilliant! Oh Amelia..did you really make that joke?

In all seriousness, the ground is actually really beautiful. It's so calm and lovely.
Just the sort of environment I enjoy being in.

I really struggled to think of what to wear. It wasn't for a job so I didn't want to look too professional.
So I thought the safest option was to go for a simple but nice black and white dress. It wasn't uncomfortable, it wasn't too hot/ cold. It was just right as they say in Goldilocks ;D

I was prepared for the interview. Not just with the questions, but also everything else.
Colleges will be busy preparing things so there may be a point where they may have forgotten to to print out your grades and qualifications. BRING THEM WITH YOU!
Yep, you will be more prepared than they are!
Put them in a show folder, pink if you like! Not only is it sensible. It really completes the look I think ;)

Well that was my interview experience!
-If you have had yours recently please tell me about it whether it's good/ bad!

-If you are still waiting for one at any time then I wish you the best of luck!

Well, I started my day off really healthy...Smoothies!

-1 tablespoon of Orange Juice
-Natural low-fat yogurt
-pinch of sugar

-Ice cubes
-Cup of milk

I can't wait to start trying out new combinations with different fruits!

Those of you that know me, know that I love Cassey Ho from 'Blogilates'.
I have already jotted down a few of her morning recipes (above) that I would like to try.

I'm super excited to start a new challenge of being more fit and healthy.
Not only does it do my body good,  but it makes me feel good too.

If you haven't looked at her channel yet, I recommend it.. as well as her yummy/ healthy- eating food recipes and ideas!

My little girlies enjoyed the park today. All the mummies came over with their children asking if it would be okay for them to pet them for a little while.
I kept an eye on them at all times, they loved just lying down in the sunshine with their toy.

Bambi & Belle loved meeting them all!
I thoroughly enjoyed today.

Saw my uncles dog 'Milo' again today! Found a photo of when I first met him too!
Look how big he has gotten!
(Sorry for bad quality!)

Day out at Bosworth

Frazier is sadly going home tomorrow !

My parents, Fraz & and a boy called Connor(who is staying with us for a week!)
went to Bosworth Park today and we had a walk around the village, it is so lovely there!

Was a beautiful day to relax, agreed?

I'm going to purchase this little beauty soon! I saw it and instantly fell in love with it!

My momma looked really pretty! She made us all a yummy picnic. We had a big family barbecue when we got home and Belle and Bambi munched on the grass!

How's your summer holidays going? I'd love to hear what you have been up too!

Trip to Skegness!

Thursday, 6 August 2015

*smacks the back of my hand*
I haven't posted in quite a while! Naughty me!

BUT it is the summer holidays, so I have been soaking up the sun and enjoying the relaxation.
For the last 3 weeks I have been supppppperrrrrr busy!
I have been down Fraizer's & taken trips down to Cadbury's World and the Safari Park!
(I will make separate posts about these!)

Within them 3 weeks, I have also had a week down in Skegness as a mini-holiday trip in my grandma's caravan. Let me just tell you, compared to where I live, the sun there was hot hot hot.

This is the sunset view when we first arrived at the caravan, how beautiful is the sky?

I should definitely start heading back to Instagram!
Skeggy was great, I truly missed Bells & Bam Bam! Our next door neighbor looked after them whilst we were away. We got him a little thankyou present and I made a little thank-you card!
(I suppose the guineas thought going to his house was like a mini-holiday!)

My trip was made even more special when we bumped into my Auntie there too.
It goes to show how small the world actually is.

Unfortunately! We found no crabs or jellyfishies! :(

We also had a trip to the 'Seal Sanctuary & Natureland' which was really cool!
They find and rescue seal (some are babies) that are washed up on the shore and they take them in to their Animal Hospital to take care of them. Most of the time they find them with starvation/ they are dehydrated. When they feel confident that they are on the track to getting better. They put them in open sea water for a few weeks to see how they cope before releasing them back into the wild.

The butterfly garden was one of my favs. There was so many tropical butterflies...some the size of my hand! If you have been to Skegness and haven't yet checked out this place, then please do!
They were selling little fluffy guinea pig teddies! (This was tempting to purchase)

I am back home now though, back to having my guinea pig beauties and giving them loads of squishy cuddles!
