Christmas in a Cup!

There's nothing I like better doing at this time of the year than to have a wonder around Christmas shops to see everything displayed and in lights, looking really really festive!

On the 28th myself, Gareth and family went around a large Garden Centre Place not too far from where I live, they sell all sorts of things there, it is not just plants!
 Their Christmas set up got me very excited!

We stopped at a café inside the place and I got a huge cup of hot chocolate!
This was probably the best hot chocolate I have ever tasted! It had a dash of cinnamon which automatically made it extremely christmassy! Plus it had a hint of cherry in it, very yummy!
 I may have to try and make my own like this sometime!

I really love seeing places lit up, it instantly makes me very smiley.  I was like a little girl walking around the store seeing all the fairy lights...those who know me know I have a passionate love for fairy lights ;)

 Quite short and sweet, I have been posting mainly lifestyle blog posts recently due to the fact I am still getting settled in to my new college and trying to keep up with assignments!

However, I still wanted to post & share little snippets of what I get up to!

A village lit up with festivity

Today the Girlies found a new friend , Caramellos. Belle was especially fond of him cuddling up nice and close and even giving him a sneaky kiss when she thought no one was looking! 

Today was my village's Christmas light switch on! Gareth (Mr.T) accompanied me as we wondered around all the mini stalls. We passed one that was selling mini donuts... you can guess what happened next...We got 20 of them! (Blame Mr.T!) However, they were super delicious with the little pot of toffee dip! 

There were also reindeers present! They were very popular with some of the children! Whereas other children were more interested in meeting Santa Claus himself... free gifts! (can i be a little kiddo again?) Praises to him though! It completely poured it down with rain at one point and he stayed sat the entire time!

10! 9! 8! 7! 6! 5! 4! 3! 2! 1!

The lights were switched on and lit up our surroundings!  It all looked amazingly perfect and Christmassy.
Despite the bad weather, everyone was smiling and cheery. I am in the Christmas mood now already, and I can not help it! Stores are preparing for Christmas, the Christmas songs are playing on the radio and the xmas jumpers are out! can't tell me you have not caught yourself singing at least one Christmas song so far!
(It's okay, your secrets safe with me!) 

I could not have spent the special moment with anyone better than Gareth, it was a nice little evening, Have you been to any light switch- on's yet?

Minnies | Cutest Animal Competition

Last week on my animal care course, I was made aware of a mini competition in order to raise money for the wildlife hospital.
I think in total the college I attend to raised around £72!

There were different categories for the competition in which you could enter photos into:
Animal and Humans together, Action Shots, Extraordinary Exotics, Funniest Pose, Cheeky Selfies, Nature at its best and Cutest Animals!

So of COURSE I simply had to enter them into the category of the 'cutest animals'...because they are so sweet and adorable that I couldn't resist!

The results were in today...look at my little winners!

It was all for a very good cause too!
But I would love to see your 'cutest animal' pics too- post them on twitter or any other social media, I'd enjoy having a scroll through!

Have you had a good Saturday?

And may I just start by saying how beautiful Autumn looks!

This weekend, my sister and niece stayed the night around my house and it was super lovely to see them! As a special treat this morning, myself and Gareth decided to make pancakes with my niece, she really enjoyed it!
(Let's just pretend that we made them oh- so perfectly, and each and every time we flipped them successfully)...

Also, have you tried the new McCafé Toffee Latte yet at McDonalds? We did today, I usually dislike coffee!
However, I really liked it!

The toffee latte! I have still yet to try the vanilla one!

As you can see though, she had molted all over me! Time to invest in a pet hair roller!

Last night, I went on a bowling night with the girls from the girls club that I attend on Mondays.
Girls club is where we all get together to do a little bible study at the church and do activities! (baking, crafting, games)

I enjoyed the bowling trip a lot, but it does go very quickly! I also became the winner
*evil laugh*!

Bonfire Night Sparkles

It is again that magical time of year where people get together and see the sky light up with fireworks. I truly love bonfire night and would easily class it as one of my favourite nights of the year! There is something about it that has a warm feeling to it (and not just because of the bonfire!),
everyone gets together on that one night with friends or family and they all share that special moment.

This year, Mr.T and I went to watch the fireworks together nearby to where I live.
At around 7:30, they lit the bonfire and we could feel the heat on our faces (it got very warm!).
We were right near to the front of the barrier fence, so we had a fairly good view!

When the fireworks started, I was really happy as I watched how pretty the night sky looked.
It was a really nice night, one of my friends from college joined up with me and Mr.T to say hello! We were all surprised to see that the candy floss Mr.T bought melted by the bonfire!
Did you know that candy floss could do that?

As the event ended, me and Mr.T stayed around to have a wonder around.
We ended up going to the top of a balcony of the main building where there was a little bar inside, we had a nice view of the bonfire which was slowly dying down, I really liked it!
We could see everyone from up there!

Overall it was a fun evening- (Although- the place we went too didn't have sparklers!!)

In the dark of the night, out of no where comes the day that everybody is expecting but nobody wants to miss. That's right! It's Halloween! I hope you all got your fill of sweets, pumpkin carving, tricking, treating and otherwise every other thing that goes on during Halloween.

We spent Halloween doing all manner of ghoulish and ghastly things! My mum found a pumpkin, they were really popular this year most shops were sold out by the time we tried to get one. Mr.T came over to join me for the festivities and together we carved the creepy pumpkin you see before you. If you believe him he claims he was the artistic brains behind it but we all know who the true artist was!

He (the Jack o' Lantern) was then placed to scare away any would be trick or treaters that dared to trespass on Mr.T's front lawn. 

This year I did a different type of activity, rather than going trick or treating Mr.T and I decided to go on a special event with the Great Central line in Loughborough. What special event you ask? Well we caught a haunted steam train, as you can see from the picture above the station was a dark and gritty place. You could feel the very air you breathed pungent and foul with the dead. There was a thick fog rolling over the station. We rushed in and hurriedly jumped aboard the train. There were many monsters and ghouls which got on with us so we decided to disguise ourselves as the very monsters we were travelling with ( They never suspected a thing).

The Train let out a whistle in the night and slowly started pulling off, chugging as it carried us into darkness. Mr.T and I sat in our compartment(not joined by any other demons or ghouls , ghosts or witches). Speaking of which,a witch offered us candy. We took the delightful Haribos she gave us she then hovered down the corridor to her next victims. Perhaps she is trying to fatten us up for her stew? Did she know our secret? 

The witch was onto us!
The Train suddenly stopped, all the lights cut out and loud shrieks could be heard throughout. Waiting for the lights to come back shadows could be seen outside the windows. Spirits dancing in the moonlight through the fog. As quickly as the lights turned off they were back on and we were visited by the conductor, who bid us a good journey on his train. We suspect he might have been a vampire.

The train stopped in a place called Rotheley we had arrived at our destination but we weren't getting off. We decided to go and explore the rest of the train. It was quite a bit larger than we both originally thought spanning several cars. There were demons and goblins running through all the corridors drenched in the spirits of the damned. Steam running up the train and between the joints. We walked through a dining area and we found the first class car of the haunted train. Laden with soft seats and retractable armrests. We sat down in the car as the train set off again.

First Class was a blast!
We Watched as the lights turned out again over a river of the damned, the silhouettes of trees shimmering on the water. Inviting those who dare on a date with death. The train whistling again travelled back to Loughborough. We got off quickly and walked around the haunted station once again. Many skeletons were walking around with all manner of creatures. Death himself was watching for any poor souls that got caught under the train. We left the station but the witch we met had one last thing to give us, her wand! What magic can we conjure with it?

I never tried the wand, but it certainly gave the Jack o Lantern a nice glow. We were pleasantly surprised that the lantern had chased off all the little rascals who would want to trick us. Mr.T suggested to get over our ordeal we watch a movie. We decided to watch The Corspe Bride! Which was a really quirky movie by Tim Burton (lets be honest he makes lots of them). Halloween was great fun this year from start to finish.

This year as part of my holiday, I joined my parents on a trip to Cyrprus, Protaras to be exact.
I have never been to Cyprus before so it was a new place for me to see, and I loved every minute of it!

Walking off of the plane into hot weather in Cyprus was such a great feeling in the middle of October! Ya know, the way the heat hits you as you walk off the plane... It was so nice not having to wear a coat to keep warm!

For me, I truly love that first moment on holiday when I first open the room door and explore where I will be staying. It gets me really happy and excited...any one else?

Our rooms were very nice, and I could not fault them! The beds were so comfy too, usually on holiday I have trouble getting used to the beds but these were super soft and super cosy.

The rooms were also kept very clean and were very modern, with everything you would need in there.

On my first day, I enjoy just exploring the area. Here's a familiar person, my mother! 

She really enjoyed how beautiful the sea water was, it was crystal clear! The beaches were B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L ! 
There was also lots of boats bobbing on the water, some could take you to the Blue Lagoon and places with pretty scenery to see dolphins below your feet on the glass bottom boats.

We also all shared a love for the food in Cyprus, the choices were endless!

The mornings were my favourite. 
(The traditional Greek yogurt was super yummy!)

Most days I spent my time relaxing to a book or listening to some music whilst sipping on a cool ice drink by the poolside.

Much like Greece, there were lots of stray kitty cats! They would just pass people by that were on their sunny walks and relax gracefully on a nearby wall.
Also in the daytime I went on adventures, there was a Nature Park nearby which was nice to visit since I am currently learning about animals on my course,
(the raccoons and penguins were just the cutest!)

Overall, everyone on my holiday was so polite, the hotel was a very nice place to stay at!
All the views were perfect and the island itself was so pretty!

I wrote all this with holiday blues!

So today was my mum's birthday! Woohoo!

We all wanted her to have a super special day!
She had many beautiful cards & flowers (& Choccys!).

This year I bought her the 'Tisty Tosty' bath bomb from Lush.
It is supposed to be super pretty in the bath & it leaves dried rose petals in the bath!
(It smells sooooo good!)

We also bought her a scented diffuser for her room. 
This smells really nice, it's in the scent 'White Jasmine' from Marks & Spencer.
& Lastly, we got her the BaByliss Hair dryer

Today, I was shopping for my mothers birthday presents and out of no where I heard someone shout "Hello Amelia!!"

It was my old high school teacher!

We had a little catch up of what I am doing in my life now, such as being on the new animal management course & she told me of how she had learnt some Spanish- the same as me! 
(she even remembered I used to take private lessons!)

It was so lovely to see her again!

How crazy is that? 

Sherwood Forest

Its been a tiny bit of time since my last blog, so I thought I'd treat you all to my trip to Sherwood forest! Now in case you don't know, its the forest that a certain outlaw was known to hide in, none other than Robin Hood. Yes the famous outlaw.

We walked down a scenic pathway covered in old dead leaves leading to a center, there were flags posted all over of old groups of the time. Gareth (A.K.A: Mr.T) joined me on the trip as we entered the beaten up old center in the middle of the forest. There were several rooms one with a projector about the history. Another with a room filled with the people and celebs of the day, such as Robin hood who would steal from the rich and give to the poor, Little John and the merry men even his love interest (Robin you player) and even the nasty Sheriff of Nottingham . The whole story depicted on murals and voice prompts. The most interesting of all is before his death Robin hood shot a random arrow into the forest and this is said to be where he is buried.

You can even see me getting executed ! How scary that must have been. Mr.T as you can see totally deserved his death haha! 

The forest itself is simply beautiful, particularly when the sunlight shines through.
There was a choice of different footpaths, some are short walks, some are long. Gareth and I were on the path on search for the big oak tree where Robin Hood supposedly hid out in the forest. It is getting a bit old now, so it does need some help to prompt it up.  But isn't it just amazing?! It's HUGE!

What really shined out to me the most was just how different some of the trees were! What I mean by this is, some were different in shape and some trees were hollow so you would be able to literally step inside of them.
Overall, it had a nice atmosphere, not just the scenery, there were children with swords having play fights along their walk, acting out the scenes they perhaps saw from one of the famous Robin Hood movies. Just these small little things really make Sherwood Forest a magical place to be.

If ever you're going to Sherwood forest, check out the wonderful wood shop run by Gareth's mother, it's in unit 15, in a quaint little craft center next to the forest.
